Veganize Your Beach Day

Now that summer is here you may be planning to hit up the beach for some fun in the sun. But have you ever thought about ways to make your beach-bumming more vegan friendly? Here are a few ideas to totally veganize your beach day! The animals, the planet and your body will thank you for it.

Take your pooch to the beach!

A day playing in the water might be the greatest day ever to our puppy pals. Why not take them with you to the designated dog beach located at the Pinery just 8kms south of Grand Bend. You’ll both get some exercise and be able to cool off in the waves!

Vegan Sunscreen

Avoid getting a sunburn by using a sunscreen that is certified cruelty free and not tested on animals. Look for logos like the Leaping Bunny or Certified Vegan to make sure. When in doubt or opting for a simpler alternative; try sesame, olive and coconut oil which have a natural SPF protection.

Vegan Food

Before you hit the road, stock up on some vegan snacks to keep you going throughout the day. Hit up Plant Matter Kitchen in town for some amazing grab and go options or make your own ahead of time. Might we suggest fresh fruit, veggie dogs and a big bag of kale chips?

Support the local scene with some healthy plant-powered drinks! Fill your cooler with a refreshing bottle of Booch Kombucha or Pulp & Press juice! Stay hydrated with lots of water and coconut water. Or if you’re opting to drink alcohol check on the barnivoire app/website to make sure your bevy is vegan approved! (And why are we still using animal products to filter and make it anyway??)

Take your day to a whole new level by supporting vegan musical artists like Moby, Sia, Joan Jett, Miley Cyrus, Stevie Wonder or Ariana Grande. Listen to your fav Rich Roll podcast while soaking up the rays or flip through the latest issue of VegNews magazine.
